Drink water often, and especially first thing upon waking (I keep my water bottle by my bedside). Arguably being hydrated is the most important part of a healthy diet.
Our bodies have a need for water unfortunately many of us walk around in a perpetual state of dehydration! If the signal to drink is ignored often enough then our bodies send us a signal to tell us we're hungry - which we tend to respond to! This can ultimately lead to weight gain.
Water among other things, is the lubricant that keeps our digestive systems functioning at peak. It encourages optimal waste function and helps to detoxify your system. Add a little lemon or lime to your water and give it a further detoxification benefit (it even helps decrease joint pain!)
One thing that you may not know is that room temperature water is actually easier for the body to process than cold water. This is great news if you carry a refillable bottle with you, this way you enjoy water's maximum benefit anytime and frequently throughout the day.
